Month for Workers aims to maintain stable jobs, income for workers

(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour’s Month for Workers in May has begun with activities to protect workers’ legitimate rights and promote their advancement as well as a harmonious labor relationship at the workplace.

This year’s Month for Workers aimed to ensure their stable jobs and income and encourage innovation for improved productivity. Discussions will take place to accelerate labor unions’ support to help workers overcome difficulties when COVID-19 subsides.

The General Confederation’s Deputy Chief of Communications and Education, Vu Manh Tiem, said the organization has cooperated with related ministries to provide social welfare support packages early to those affected.

  “We have collected feedback from provinces and consulted with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to support the needy. We have encouraged workers to join hands with their employers to overcome difficulties and promote production.”

During the Month for Workers, which has been held annually since 2013, awareness raising activities will take place to promote work safty and hygiene.
