The administration of Italian ports has said the ban will also cover the vessels that are mooring at the Italian ports should depart immediately after completing their commercial activities.
The Romanian Naval Administration has also banned Russian-flagged ships from entering its ports, starting from Sunday. No Russian-flagged vessel, except the ones for humanitarian purposes and energy transportation, is allowed to enter Romanian ports in the Black Sea.
Last Friday, Belgium issued a ban for Russian ships.
The bans are part of the comprehensive sanction campaign that many Western countries and their allies have carried out against Moscow after Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24.
