Myanmar: Aung San Suu Kyi detained until mid February
(VOVWORLD) - Myanmar’s National League for Democracy spokesperson Kyi Toe said Wednesday that President U Win Myint and State Counsellor Suu Kyi will be detained until February 15.

According to the police, President U Win Myint is accused of addressing a campaign rally, which violates campaign guidelines and COVID-19 restrictions under section 25 of the Natural Disaster Management Law. The police accused Ms. Suu Kyi of possessing illegally imported communications equipment, specifically, walkie-talkies, which are restricted gadgets in Myanmar.
