(VOVworld) – On Thursday, the National Assembly has approved in majority of a resolution to invest in the building of Long Thanh international airport project.

At the 8th session, for the first time lawmakers gave opinions to the project which has also attracted great attention from the public.
Although deputies agreed on the investment direction, the legislative body asked parties involved in the Long Thanh project to outline specific plans for the implementation of land clearance, compensation, support, resettlement, and job generation for the people whose land will be taken for the construction.
Deputies also called on the government to design plans on building infrastructure, supportive works for the project, and developing a traffic system to link with the Long Thanh International Airport.
It’s also crucial to implement the project in line with the set progress, ensure socio-economic efficiency, assess possible environmental impacts and draw solutions to environmental protection, mobilize and balance financial resources not to impact on public debts.
The NA also adopted the Law on Sea and Island Natural Resources and Environment and the revised State Budget Law.
