President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met deputies who are ethnic minorities in Hanoi on Wednesday. Mr. Hue said there have been many policies on socio-economic development for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas and the living standard of ethnic people has been improved. He called for better fulfillment of tasks to achieve the goals and meet the current needs.
“Be more proactive and quicker in preparing for the monitoring plans, continue to promote self-reliance, mutual support, and sharing among ethnic groups and among localities, and the active and effective participation of businesses with ethnic minorities, strengthening great national unity. Ethnic National Assembly deputies need to further raise awareness of ethnic affairs among cadres, party committees, authorities, fronts and mass organizations at all levels in the political system. Policies on equality, solidarity, respect and mutual development should be enforced, while raising vigilance and preventing plots from dividing the nation,” Mr. Hue said.
NA Chairman Hue said he hopes that ethnic minority deputies will regularly maintain contact with voters, especially voters in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, to represent their will, aspirations, and legitimate interests.
