He said he highly appreciated and thanked Japan for its ODA provision. As Japan has funded a cold chain for  COVID-19 vaccine storage for Vietnam, Chairman Hue said he wants Japan to share its vaccines and cooperate on transferring vaccine production technology to Vietnam.

The National Assembly Chairman expected the ambassador will pay attention to strengthening exchanges between parliamentarians of the two countries, especially young and female parliamentarians; and boosting information and experience cooperation and exchange in legislative work, supervision and decision-making regarding important national issues.

Japanese Ambassador Yamada Takio thanked National Assembly Chairman Hue for his suggestions and said that he will forward Mr. Hue’s suggestions to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan.

According to the Ambassador, the National Assembly of Vietnam plays an increasingly important role in policy making for sustainable, inclusive economic and social development and attracting foreign investors, including Japan. The Embassy will try to fully convey Japanese businesses’ opinions to the National Assembly of Vietnam, he said.
