Mr. Man praised Sembcorp's investment in 18 VSIP projects in 13 provinces, creating jobs for 300,000 Vietnamese workers. He said he hopes Sembcorp will continue to cooperate with Vietnam in building smart, sustainable industrial parks and pursuing clean energy projects.
CEO Lee called VSIP a symbol of successful Singapore-Vietnam cooperation. He thanked the Vietnamese Government for supporting businesses and pledged continued investment in VSIP and other areas, with a focus on green and high-tech projects.
At a reception the same day for Wee Ee Cheong, Deputy Chairman and CEO of United Overseas Bank Search (UOB), Chairman Man said Vietnam prioritizes green finance, high tech, renewable energy, and green energy—areas where Singapore excels.
Mr. Wee said Vietnam is a top priority of UOB's long-term cooperation and investment. UOB, the only Singaporean bank in Vietnam, plans to open a new branch in Ho Chi Minh City to support foreign-invested businesses operating in Vietnam, he said.
