NA Chairman meets with Vietnamese community in Singapore

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga met with the staff members of Vietnamese representative agencies and the representatives of the Vietnamese community in Singapore on Sunday evening, as part of their official visit to the country.

NA Chairman Man praised the role of the Vietnamese community in Singapore, which always stays united and looks towards the homeland, and expressed his belief that they will continue to thrive.

Informing about Vietnam's socio-economic situation, Chairman Man emphasized that the country is actively preparing Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress in early 2026 and the election of the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

This is an important task to steer the country into a new era, an era of national rise, he added and asked overseas Vietnamese to contribute their opinions as soon as the authorities send documents to them. The National Assembly Chairman requested Embassy officials and the Vietnamese community abroad in general, and in Singapore in particular, to contribute to the  National Party Congress documents.

Mr. Man acknowledged comments and suggestions from representatives of the 25,000 overseas Vietnamese community in Singapore on the two countries’  cooperation, especially in energy, food, and supply chains. He said he would discuss these issues with Singapore in meetings and talks. The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that this visit has important significance, aiming to promote the upgrade of Vietnam-Singapore relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership next year.
