NA Chairman to attend ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly meeting
(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will attend the 42nd General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) from next Monday to Wednesday. The conference will be held via videoconference on the theme of “Forging Parliamentary Cooperation in Digital Inclusion towards ASEAN Community 2025”.

The National Assembly Chairman will convey to foreign friends and the international community a message of a constantly innovating Vietnam and a responsible Vietnamese National Assembly which is proactive in inter-parliamentary cooperation and works with the Government in socio-economic development and COVID-19 prevention and control, said Chairman of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong at a press conference on Friday.
“This event is of special significance as it marks the first official multilateral foreign affairs activity of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam during the 15th term. This activity is preceded by important achievements of parliamentary diplomacy,” said Mr.Cuong.
According to National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the theme of the AIPA-42 General Assembly demonstrates the determination and consensus of the legislative bodies of all ASEAN member states to accompany the grouping in its efforts to control the COVID-19 pandemic, and overcome difficulties to recover the economy.
