NA Chairman urges ministries to remove obstacles to socio-economic development

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on Thursday said the Q&A  session at the just concluded 36th meeting of the NA Standing Committee aimed to promote institution building and improvement, remove obstacles to socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security, improve foreign affairs, and prevent corruption and negativity.

The meeting also aimed to improve the efficiency of and clarify the responsibilities of agency heads, refine administrative policies and laws, and resolve problems to ensure that the resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee are fully implemented, Man said.

NA Chairman Man asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade to effectively implement approved projects, strategies, and master plans to ensure energy security. The Ministry was also urged to effectively manage the market, prevent and combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, poor-quality goods, and negativity, and create favorable conditions for goods import and export.

The NA Chairman asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to continue improving policies and laws on trademarks and brands of major agricultural products, make forecasts and deploy solutions to respond to climate change, mitigate natural disasters, drought, and saltwater intrusion, and ensure water sources for production and daily life.

Man asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop policies to make tourism a spearhead economic sector, create regulations for culture and art-related fields, and create a mechanism to mobilize investment in culture.
