Advertising is identified as one of Vietnam's 12 cultural industries. It receives attention from the State to promote the image of the country and its people, and preserve cultural identity in the process of exchange, integration and international cooperation. Advertising activities are now shifting from traditional media such as outdoor and newspaper advertising to advertising on cyberspace.
Deputies focused on practical issues to build a developed Vietnamese advertising market for the common benefit of society. Tran Thi Thanh Huong, representing An Giang province, said, “increasing advertising is necessary as it partly help press agencies earn revenue, especially for newspapers having financial autonomy. However, to improve competitiveness, it’s important to reform, improve program quality and enhance the quality of advertising content."
"The drafting agency continues to carefully study and evaluate the impact so that to ensure the interests of press agencies and the interests of the public,” Huong added.
National Assembly deputies also proposed adding specific regulations for providing cross-border advertising services in Vietnam.
Also on Monday afternoon, the National Assembly discussed solutions to continue to overcome difficulties caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic so that Vietnam Airlines Corporation can soon recover and develop sustainably.
