The President paid special attention to fostering judicial workers’ competence and professionalism. Together with the Party General Secretary, the National Assembly Chairman and the Prime Minister, the President contributed to raising Vietnam’s prestige in the international arena. UN Chief Ban Ki Moon stated before the Vietnamese NA that though Vietnam still has some problems but it has proved itself a responsible nation. The President contributed to improving people’s lives, especially in remote areas”.
Commenting on the performance of the government and the Prime Minister, Tran Du Lich, a deputy for Ho Chi Minh City, said: “The government contributed to stabilizing the macro economy, controlling inflation, maintaining an appropriate economic growth, and ensuring social security. The government’s persistence in pursuing these goals helped to stabilize Vietnam’s economy. I applaud the government’s efforts to integrate market-related issues into legislation and promote integration as a way to shorten Vietnam’s path to industrialization. As a result, we have improved our legal system and investment environment. In this tenure, the government managed to sign a number of new-generation FTAs helping Vietnam to elevate its position in the world”.
Discussing reports on the Justice of the Supreme People’s Court and the General Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the deputies hailed the two sectors’ achievements in improving the quality of prosecution, judgments, transparency, and close cooperation with other judicial agencies.
