NA discusses end-of term performance reports

(VOVworld)- On Wednesday, deputies to the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly discussed end-of term performance reports including those of the President, the National Assembly Chairman, and the Prime Minister. They praised reforms in the National Assembly activities in the last tenure.

Do Van Duong, a deputy for Ho Chi Minh City said legislative activities were improved and more democratic:“In the last tenure, the National Assembly adopted a number of resolutions on justice, contributing to strengthening judicial agencies and combating crimes. Vietnam’s politics was stable and security was ensured. In this tenure, Q&A sessions and discussions were live broadcast drawing the attention of a wider public”.

The deputies lauded the government’s performance in the last five years, especially its efforts to ensure social security. They proposed the government work out a master plan on water management in the Mekong River Delta.

On that day, the deputies discussed the draft law on children and proposed change its name into the Law on the Protection, Care, and Education of Children.  
The same day, they discussed end-of-term performance reports by State, government, and National Assembly leaders, the Judge of the Supreme People’s Court, Prosecutor General of the Vietnam Supreme People’s Procuracy, Auditor General of the State Audit of Vietnam. The deputies agreed that the reports showed shortcomings and inadequacies in the last term and they should work out tasks and measures to solve any remaining problems.
