NA’s extraordinary session decides on national master plan, personnel work

(VOVWORLD) -The 15th National Assembly (NA) convened its second extraordinary session in Hanoi on Thursday, attended by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and leaders of the State, Government, and NA.

Before the session, the participants laid wreaths to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum.

In his opening address, NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said the session will consider and decide on a number of major and urgent issues, including the national master plan until 2030 with a vision to 2050, the revised Pharmacy Law, the review and assessment of specialized policies on COVID-19 prevention and control, the State budget, and personnel work.

To make the session a success, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue asked National Assembly deputies to promote democracy, uphold a sense of responsibility, and contribute valuable and relevant opinions.

“The National Assembly, Government agencies, and other agencies must collect and clarify the opinions of lawmakers to complete draft laws and resolutions of the highest quality to submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision at this session,” said Mr. Hue.

 After opening remarks by Mr. Hue, verification reports were delivered to the NA on the National Master Plan, the draft Law on Medical Examination and Treatment, the implementation of the resolution on COVID-19 prevention and control policies, and adjustments to the refinancing plans of localities in 2022 and the estimate of unused funds for regular operations of the General Department of Taxation and the General Department of Customs by the end of 2021.

The  4-day session will conclude next Monday. The opening and closing session are broadcast live by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV1), Vietnam Television (VTV1), and National Assembly Television.
