National Assembly approves legislation for 2016
(VOVworld) – National Assembly deputies approved a resolution on the making of laws and ordinances for 2016 and adjustments to the legislative program for this year on Tuesday. This year’s legislation includes a resolution on supplements to the tax list for environmental protection, a resolution on revisions to the tax list for natural resources, the revised law on imports-exports, and the revised Pharmaceutical Law. Lawmakers will also consider and approve the Market Management Ordinance and a resolution on the implementation of the one-time social insurance payment policy for workers after one year off work.
Next year, the legislature will discuss the approval of 6 draft laws on a number of issues including information access; the signing, accession to, and implementation of international conventions; planning; and the media. Deputies will also discuss the draft law on demonstrations.
Lawmakers also discussed the draft law on the supervisory activities of the National Assembly and People’s Councils. They agreed on the need to formulate and issue a law on supervisory activities in order to institutionalize Constitution regulations and that the supervision of People’s Councils should be practiced at the provincial, district and communal level. Deputies agreed that post-supervision work was necessary to ensure the effectiveness of supervision. Nguyen Thi Kha, a deputy for Tra Vinh province, said: “I appreciate the role of the media in supervision. The media will debate, assess and inform the public of supervision results, improving the effectiveness of supervisory work.”
The National Assembly also approved the revised Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
