At a meeting with Erex Group President Honna Hitoshi in Hanoi on Friday, Mr. Hue said developing biomass power projects and converting existing coal power projects to biomass power plants matches Vietnam’s national strategy on green growth for 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 the Government has just approved and consistent with Vietnam's commitment at the 26th UN Climate Change Summit (COP26).

The current legal system of Vietnam has clear and specific regulations to create favorable conditions for foreign enterprises to invest in Vietnam, Chairman Hue said.

Mr. Hitoshi echoed the Japanese Government's view of supporting Vietnam in achieving its carbon emission reduction targets. He expressed his hope that Vietnam will be a model in biomass energy conversion towards sustainability.
