National Assembly opens sixth session

(VOVWORLD) - The sixth session of the 14th National Assembly opened in Hanoi on Monday. The opening ceremony was broadcast live by Radio the Voice of Vietnam, the Vietnam Television and the TV channel of the National Assembly. The session will run for 24 days and the closing ceremony will take place on November 21.

As planned, the deputies will comment on 6 bills and approve 9 other bills. The bills to be approved include the revised anti-corruption law, the revised law on people’s police, the revised law on amnesty, the law on amendments to the law on tertiary education, the law on animal husbandry, the law on cultivation, the law on Vietnam coast guard, the law on protection of state secret, and the law on amendments to laws related to planning.

The NA session will ratify the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Deputies will elect the new president of Vietnam at the beginning of their session.
