National Assembly: Resources mobilized through public-private partnership

(VOVWORLD) - A draft law on investment in the form of public-private partnership (PPP) topped the agenda of the ongoing National Assembly (NA) session in Hanoi on Tuesday.

Tran Van Lam, a deputy for Bac Giang province, said: "The PPP law creates a sustainable legal foundation to make the business environment more transparent and mobilize private resources for key national projects. PPP projects focus on transportation and welfare. The draft law should require the government to state the cost of services provided by PPP businesses."

Nguyen Tien Sinh, a deputy for Hoa Binh province, said: "The draft law should fine-tune socialist oriented market economy institutions, create mechanisms to mobilize resources for national development, comply with market regulations, and build policies focused on the interests of the people, state, and investors. Beside new PPP projects, the state needs to ensure investment, improve public services suitable to national resources and development, and boost market competitiveness."
