(VOVworld)- The National Assembly Standing Committee convened its 19th meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday to review the outcome of the fifth session and to prepare for the sixth session. National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung chaired the meeting. According to the National Assembly Standing Committee’s report, the 5th session completed its agenda discussing several issues that attracted voters and people’s attention. At their 5th session, the deputies cast votes of confidence in officials elected or approved by the National Assembly, and discussed the draft revisions of the 1992 Constitution and the revised Land Law. The 6th session of the 13th National Assembly, which is scheduled to open on October 21 and last for 30 days, will evaluate the implementation of this year’s socio-economic development plan, map out next year’s development and budgetary plans as well as review the master plan on economic restructuring. The Assembly will also debate and approve the draft revised 1992 Constitution and the amended draft Land Law. Chairman Hung said: “It is necessary to continue receiving public feedback regarding the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution and instruct the public in how to send in their feedback.  With regards to the revised Land Law, the government needs to ask the drafting agency to work with the appraisal agency to complete the draft revisions and then submit them to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee. The government needs to study the feasibility of the Land Law and see whether cabinet members have any different opinions about it”.

Members of the National Assembly Standing Committee agreed that the revised 1992 Constitution and the revised Land Law attracted the greatest concerns from voters, so it would be necessary to spend more time discussing them at the upcoming 6 session. The 19th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will conclude on July 12.
