Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the Assembly’s Office told the media of the National Assembly session’s outcomes in Hanoi on Friday. He said the legislature questioned Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, the Minister of Transports, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, and Minister of Education and Training. Due to shortened duration of questions and answers, more deputies were able to put their questions and the quality of Q&A was improved. Mr. Phuc said the session was held in an active, frank, and democratic manner, shifting from speech delivery to debates. Debates were constructive, candid, and straightforward, reflecting deputies’ responsibility, passion, and acceptance of opinions from voters and people. The session’s outcomes showed that the National Assembly is closer to the people and has drawn more public attention.

At the press conference, Nguyen Thanh Hong, permanent member of the National Assembly’s Defense and Security  Committee, refuted concerns that the newly-approved Law on Cyber Security will affect internet and telecommunications service providers. He said the law has reflected opinions from Vietnamese voters and experts from the US, Australia, the EU, and international organizations to meet cyber security needs.
