National Volunteer Award 2016 launched in Hanoi

(VOVworld) - The National Volunteer Award 2016 was launched in Hanoi on Monday to honor organizations and individuals who actively engage in volunteer activities for the community’s benefits.

The award, initiated by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) and the UN Volunteer Program, will be given to 10 outstanding organizations and individuals, said Nguyen Phi Long, the Union’s Secretary, who is also President of the Vietnam Youth Association.

Nominations will be accepted from August 2 to October 30.  The list of nominees will be announced on the website at www.tinhnguyenquocgia.vn. The award ceremony is scheduled for December 5 in Hanoi to mark the International Volunteer Day.
