NATO commits to increasing its military presence in eastern Europe and Baltic
(VOVworld) – NATO is going to increase its military contingent in the Eastern European States. Speaking to Bulgarian leaders during his visit to this country, NATO’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said a greater number of soldiers will take part in a land-based exercises and more ships will be deployed to the Black Sea to show NATO’s increasing presence in the eastern part of the member countries.

According to him, the Alliance will create control centers in at least six Eastern European countries – in the Baltics as well as in Poland, Romania and Bulgaria. Jens Stoltenberg said this was for defense purposes and part of NATO’s collective defense activities.
