(VOVworld) - The NATO defense Chiefs gathered at the 172^nd Military Committee meeting on Thursday to discuss the action plan, readiness capability, and “Resolute Support” mission in Afghanistan. The 2-day meeting in Brussels also put in place stronger military cooperation with Ukraine and Mediterranean dialogue partners in dealing with threats against global security. The defense Chiefs reviewed the geopolitical situation on the eastern and southern flanks of the alliance which allowed them to share a common perception ahead of meetings with partners.

The meetings enabled the NATO defense Chiefs to provide core messages and consensus-based advice to the North Atlantic Council on future strategic directions.
