According to predictions made by the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, the cold front is set to directly affect both northern mountainous provinces and north-central provinces. In line with this, temperatures will quickly drop by up to four degrees Celsius to a low of 12 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous localities even seeing a drop to below nine degrees Celsius, the weather forecast authority stated.

Most notably, mountainous regions such as Cao Bang, Lang Son, Yen Bai, Lao Cai, and Ha Giang have been urged to brace for potential spells of frost. The lowest temperatures at Mau Son peak in Lang Son province are forecast to reach as low as zero degrees Celsius, with the resort town of Sa Pa in Lao Cai province poised to see temperatures drop to minus one degree Celsius.

Due to these harsh falls in temperature, residents of northern regions, especially the elderly and children, are being urged to wear warm clothes in order to protect their health, with local authorities taking swift measures to help residents in rural areas to protect their plants and animals.

In the capital, the cold spell will cause temperatures in Hanoi to tumble to between 13 and 15 degrees Celsius from the night of Wednesday.
