New infections of COVID-19 continue to fall in Vietnam

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam reported 3,175 new local infections of COVID-19 on Sunday, a drop of 36 cases against the previous day,  according to the Ministry of Health.

HCM City detected the highest number of new infections (1,059), followed by Binh Duong province (537) and Dong Nai province (517).

The national count now stands at 864,053, including 791,844 recoveries and 21,194 deaths. 

The same day, authorities of the northern province of Phu Tho requested the reactivation of a centralized quarantine facility in Viet Tri city and the building of another in Lam Thao district after more than 50 new cases were confirmed in these 2 localities.

More than 10,000 people in Hung Son township in Lam Thao and 7,000 others in Chu Hoa commune in Viet Tri have been isolated and tested.
