(VOVworld) – Phong Dien district in Can Tho city received a certificate of recognition as a new-style rural area on Tuesday.

In her address, Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said the district’s success should be a model for other Mekong Delta provinces to follow: “There is no need to be hasty because new rural development is a long-term task. I hope that the resolutions and action plans of local people’s councils and administrations will specify tasks and targets. We should build on our achievements to encourage more people to become involved in building new-style areas.”
