This year’s competition asks contestants to write a letter to someone influential urging he/she to take action against the climate crisis.

In his letter, Nguyen Binh Nguyen from Nguyen Tri Phuong Middle School, turns himself into a gust of wind to write to renowned pianist Dang Thai Son, sharing his idea of using music to inspire thoughts and actions on environmental protection.

“Climate change is evolving very dangerously, if we do not act immediately, it will greatly affect our lives. So, I chose to transform myself into the wind to be sent to pianist Dang Thai Son because the wind can fly everywhere and can see all the changes. Just like this year's theme is climate change, the message that I want to convey is that everyone has their own responsibility and ability to reverse climate change and I hope that each person should fulfill that responsibility,” said Nguyen.

His letter will be translated into French before being submitted to the UPU in Switzerland. The organizers also awarded three second and five third prizes as well as 30 honorable mentions. There were two special prizes for contestants with disabilities.
