North Korea calls artillery strike drill 'self-defense'
(VOVWORLD) - Kim Yo-Jong, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s sister, who is a senior member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party, said Tuesday that a live-fire drill was strictly for self-defense.

Ms. Kim slammed South Korea for complaining about the North's projectile launches, saying that it makes no sense for the South to take issue with the North's self defense exercises while it holds joint military exercises with the US.
On Monday, the North fired two projectiles off its east coast, the first such launches since Pyongyang warned early this year that it would show off a "new strategic weapon."
The North Korean Central News Agency said leader Kim Jong-un monitored the drill on Monday.
