North Korea denies it hacked UN database on sanctions
(VOVWORLD) - The North Korean mission to the United Nations issued a press release on Wednesday denying North Korean involvement in a hacking campaign against a UN Panel of Experts (PoE) tasked with monitoring Pyongyang’s sanctions enforcement and evasion.
The statement said Pyongyang does not recognize what it considers to be “illegal” UN resolutions against it, nor the Committee mandated to oversee the sanctions. North Korea dismissed the accusation as "nonsense", saying that the US and hostile forces should recognize the trend of the times and make efforts to encourage detente and peace on the Korean peninsula rather than making hacking accusations.
