North Korea rebuffs UN condemnation of its missile launches

(VOVWORLD) - North Korea's Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui expressed displeasure at UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’s condemnation of the North’s most recent ballistic missile test and accused him of siding with the US.

In a statement carried by state media, Choe emphasized that North Korea's development of nuclear weapons is for self-defence and called the UN chief a "member" of the White House and the US State Department.
Choe accused Guterres of ignoring the purpose and principles of the UN Charter and its proper mission, which is to maintain impartiality, objectivity, and equity in settling international affairs.
