(VOVWORLD) - The Russian government said Wednesday that it will coordinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russia’s ambassador to North Korea Alexander Matsegora said the two nations expect to exchange several more high-level delegations before the end of the year, including celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of North Korea on August 15 and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the North’s Workers’ Party on October 10.
The Russian government announced it would double the budget scholarship quota for North Korean students to 100 for the next academic year. About 180 North Korean students are studying in Russia.
