After Pyongyang launched mid-range missiles believed to be Musudan on June 22, the UNSC convened an emergency meeting and released press statement describing North Korea’s move as serious violation of UN resolutions on prohibiting Pyongyang’s development of ballistic missiles. The Security Council also called for strengthened sanctions against North Korea for the latest missile launch.
