OIC calls for international recognition of East Jerusalem as Palestine’s capital
(VOVWORLD) - The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Wednesday called on all countries to "recognize the State of Palestine and East Jerusalem as its occupied capital".

The US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital lacks legitimacy, ruins peacekeeping efforts, and boosts terrorism and extremism, said leaders attending the OIC Summit in Turkey. The OIC also said it considers Trump’s decision to be an announcement of the US’s withdrawal from the Middle East peace process.
At the Summit, Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas said there will be no peace without a recognized Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
