Fifteen countries accounting for 73% of the world’s oil production will attend the meeting, including the world’s top exporters Saudi Arabia, and Russia. The meeting follows last month’s talks in Doha, Qatar, between the ministers of Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela. After the talks, Russia and Saudi Arabia agreed to freeze oil production at the January level.

On Wednesday, oil prices surged as investors increasingly bought in after two days selling off. At 06.00 GMT, on the New York Stock Exchange, West Texas Intermediate Crude for April delivery was up 59 cents, to 36.93. On the London Stock Market, Brent Crude for May delivery was up 47 cents, to 39.21.
