(VOVworld)­ - The Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium and Luxembourg conducted a prayer for the overseas Vietnamese community yesterday on the occasion of the lunar New Year.

Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau said the ceremony cherishes a time-honoured Vietnamese tradition of wishing Vietnamese families a peaceful and happy new year. The ceremony reminds the Vietnamese community of the traditional Tet holiday spirit and prayers for their families in the New Year. The Ambassador said the Vietnamese Party and State always respect people’s religious freedom and support them in following their beliefs. He said he hoped Vietnamese people in Belgium and Luxembourg could promote solidarity and mutual assistance and always remember their homeland.
