(VOVworld)-The Vietnamese embassy in Canada has held a meeting in Toronto to update the Vietnamese community there about the situation in the East Sea and Vietnam’s measures to address the issue.

The purpose of the meeting was also to call for donations to support Vietnamese marine police and fisheries resources surveillance forces and fishermen who have been safeguarding national maritime sovereignty.

The attendees agreed that national unity is the main factor creating strength in the fight to protect national sovereignty, and expressed their belief in Party and Government policies.  They donated approximately 5000 USD to support Vietnamese marine law enforcement forces and fishermen.
