This was the first match making event between overseas Vietnamese and provinces. Ambassador Luong Thanh Nghi, Deputy Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, said:“This is a special event for overseas Vietnamese, especially business people to share experience in investment in Vietnam. They will be updated about local investment policies to promote overseas Vietnamese resources for growth.”

Dr Nguyen Huy My from the Russian Federation Academy of Natural Sciences expected more investment in culture and tourism: “Culture is the pathway to the world. This could be done through overseas Vietnamese, friends and relatives and government agencies. The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese should call for more investment in culture.”

The World Bank reports that Vietnam received some 16 billion dollars of remittances this year. Nearly 3,000 overseas Vietnamese investors have invested some 4 billion dollars in projects in Vietnam.
