(VOVworld)- The Vietnamese Consulate General in San Francisco has organized a get-together to celebrate the lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
Addressing the celebration, Consul General Vuong Hai Nam briefed them on Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements in 2014. He said the Vietnamese State always considers overseas Vietnamese an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation and hoped that the overseas Vietnamese will unite and improve their lives.

On the same occasion, the Vietnamese Embassies in Germany and Egypt also carried out many activities to celebrate Tet. In Germany, hundreds of overseas Vietanmese in Leipzig gathered in Leipzeigh Culture House to welcome Tet and celebrate the 40
th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic ties and 1000
th founding anniversary of Leipzig. Ambassador to Egypt Dao Thanh Chung asserted the State and Party’s consistent policy of considering overseas Vietnamese an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation. He also praised contributions of the overseas Vietnamese to Vietnam's development, international integration, and raising the position of Vietnam in the world.
About 300 overseas Vietnamese and students in Norway and their Norwegian friends celebrated the Vietnamese lunar New Year at the Red Cross Society in Oslo. In Seoul, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Pham Huu Chi, his wife and the Embassy staff visited and presented gifts to a number of overseas Vietnamese.
