Overseas Vietnamese welcomed home for Lunar New Year

(VOVWORLD) -Overseas Vietnamese, who are in Vietnam to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Cat, have been welcomed home by Ho Chi Minh City’s get-together program.

On Friday, the delegation observed a minute of silence and offered flowers at the monument of President Ho Chi Minh. Next, they visited the 125th Brigade and families with meritorious services to the revolution.

Overseas Vietnamese toured the Saigon Special Forces relic site and Cu Chi Tunnels and visited the Hi-tech Park and the Hung King Temple in Thu Duc City.

On Friday evening, the delegation attended the theatrical program commemorating the 55th anniversary of the 1968 Spring General Offensive and Uprising at the memorial area in Tan Nhut commune, Binh Chanh district.  

As planned, the municipal leaders will meet 1,600 overseas compatriots to cheer in the Lunar New Year 2023 on Saturday evening at the Ho Chi Minh City Hall.
