OVs contribute opinions on digital transformation

(VOVWORLD) - A conference was held on Friday in Ho Chi Minh City to collect overseas Vietnamese’s opinions on digital transformation and overcoming COVID-19 impacts for Vietnam’s economic development.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said Vietnam is currently short of 400,000 IT workers as domestic training programs on IT have not met proper requirements.

He called on overseas Vietnamese intellectuals, experts, and entrepreneurs, together with related ministries, sectors, and domestic businesses to exchange ideas and experiences to help Vietnam realize its target of overcoming adverse impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and developing Vietnam’s socio-economy.

"A number of issues should be focused on, including changing people’s awareness on the importance of digital transformation, acknowledging the importance of institutions as a motivation for digital transformation, and preparing human resources for developing a digital economy and society where nobody is left behind," said Deputy PM Minh.
