Pakistan attack: At least 27 killed. Attacker activated bomb vest
(VOVWORLD) -The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist rebel group, has admitted being behind the suicide bombing at a train station in southwestern Pakistan on Saturday, which killed at least 27 people and injured 62 others.
The attack occurred at around 8:20 a.m. (local time) at Platform 1 of the railway station in Quetta, capital of Balochistan province.
According to preliminary reports, a suicide bomber is believed to have detonated the bomb vest he was wearing while in the middle of a crowd. Those killed included passengers, station staff, and security staff. Local authorities fear the number of casualties may increase as updates continue.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the bloody attack, saying terrorists who harm innocent civilians will pay a heavy price.
