After the talks, White House spokesperson Jen Psaki said certain gaps were bridged but it was too early to talk about a final agreement.
The same day, Israel tightened economic sanctions against Palestine by stopping the payment to Palestine of taxes Israel collected on Palestine’s behalf. Israel said it will withdraw from their co-exploitation of a gas field off the Gaza Strip and limit Palestine’s saving deposits at Israeli banks.
According to Erakat, Israel’s actions is an appropriation of Palestinian property and a violation of law and international norms.
