Palestinians ready for any Israeli government bound by world pacts - ảnh 1
(VOVworld)- The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) said Wednesday that it will deal with any Israeli government that abides by the international conventions. The PNA announcement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party won Tuesday’s parliamentary elections.
Nabil Abu Rdineh, spokesperson of the Palestinian presidency said that Palestinians want to see an Israeli government that recognizes the two-state solution and east Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state.
Yasser Abed Rabbo, secretary general of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) executive committee, said that the Likud's victory in the elections paves a long and harsh revolution for Palestinians against Israel.  Rabbo called for completing steps toward stopping security cooperation with Israel and urged for compiling a lawsuit on war crimes conducted by Israel last July and August against Palestinians at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
On Wednesday the European Union issued a statement congratulating Prime Minister Netanyahu’s victory. EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said that EU supports the resumption of Middle-East peace talks toward resolving the conflict. Netanyahu previously said in his presidential election campaign that there would be no Palestinian state if he was re-elected.
