In his closing remark, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said Party Central Committee members and other delegates studied, discussed, and contributed opinions to reports and projects. The Party Central Committee approved resolutions and conclusions of the 6th plenum with high consensus, covering socio-economic and financial-budget situation this year and plans for next year, health care and population work, reform of public agencies, and streamlining the political system.

Party leader Trong said priority should be given to fine-tuning mechanisms to further improve the business climate, improve the efficiency of State-owned enterprises, public agencies, and the private sector. Mr. Trong added that the Party Central Committee fully agreed with the Politburo’s proposal on elec8ting 2 additional members to the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat. He said, “I call on each Party Central Committee member and all party members and State employees to constantly improve themselves. From now on, any violation of the Party’s regulations and disciplines should be strictly dealt with to regain the people’s trust and respect. If we do things that live up to the people’s aspirations, our regime and our Party will continue to exist. If we lose the people’s trust, we will lose everything.”

The Party leader said the implementation of the strategic tasks adopted at the 12th National Party Congress has won widespread support from the whole Party, people, and army, creating momentum for the renewal process to develop Vietnam.
