The top leader said there will be a number of important events this year when Vietnam is holding the ASEAN chairmanship and the two-year non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council, and all-level Party congresses will take place in preparation for the 13^th National Party Congress.

Mr. Trong called for long-term solutions and capitalizing on the strength of the whole political system and the great national unity bloc. He said every citizen is a soldier in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic and all resources must be mobilized in the spirit of “fighting the epidemic like fighting an enemy”.

Party leader and President Trong said that apart from dealing with the disease, policies and measures need to be in place to minimize the epidemic’s negative impact on the realization of socio-economic targets; recover production, business and tourism; and ensure a normal life for residents in infected areas.
