Party leader explains his view on “Vietnam rising era“

From now on, all Vietnamese people, a hundred million people as one, under the leadership of the Party, join forces, work together, maximize opportunities and advantages, minimize risks and challenges, steer the country to comprehensive, strong development, breakthrough and take-off," according to Party General Secretary To Lam.

The Party leader made clear his view on the term “Vietnam rising era” during a discussion themed "A New Era of Development - The Era of Vietnam's Rise" in Hanoi on Monday.

He focused on two main points: basic issues about the new era, the era of national rise and ground for positioning the goal of steering the country into a new era, the era of national rise, and strategic directions.

According to the General Secretary, the new era for the Vietnamese people is an era of development and prosperity under the leadership of the Communist Party, with the success of Socialist building in Vietnam.

The goal of the new era is a strong nation with prosperous people and a democratic, fair, and civilized society that can stand shoulder to shoulder with the world’s great powers. The top priority in this new era is to achieve strategic goals: Vietnam will become a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030 and a developed socialist nation with high income by 2045.

Discussing strategic directions, Mr. Lam emphasized the issue of improving the Party's leadership methods, focusing on streamlining the apparatus and organization of the party's agencies. 

The General Secretary stressed the need to carry out a digital transformation revolution with aggressive and comprehensive reforms to adjust production relations, create new impetus for development, and maximize opportunities and advantages brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He also pointed out ways to build Vietnam's socialist model, with a focus on building socialist people, developing new production forces, boosting strategic technology, digital transformation, green transformation, taking science and technology and innovation as the main driving force for development.
