Delivering a policy speech at the University of Malaya, the oldest and most prestigious university of Malaysia, Mr. Lam noted that Vietnam is focusing on meeting key goals to mark the centenary of the Party's leadership in 2030 and the centenary of the founding of the country in 2045.

“Vietnam pursues a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, and being a  friend with all nations in the world for peace, stability, and the shared interests of humanity. Within this framework, the relationship between Vietnam and Malaysia holds great importance,” the Party leader said.

In a world full of upheavals, both countries share a common responsibility and should respond appropriately to global and regional developments, he noted. Therefore, upgrading the bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership brings mutual benefits and aligns with the goals of stable development of each nation, according Mr. Lam.

“Amid global uncertainties, we must strengthen regional peace and stability as a foundation not only for the development of our two countries but also for peace and stability in the entire ASEAN region,” the Vietnamese top leader said.
