Party leader receives Chinese Vice Premier, Indonesian President
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received Chinese Vice Premier of the State Council Hu Chunhua in Hanoi on Wednesday. The Party leader called for more bilateral high-level exchanges and implement leaders’ common perception, including the Vietnam-China agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues.
The Chinese official is leading a delegation to the ongoing World Economic Forum on ASEAN. He congratulated Vietnam on its successful hosting of the WEF ASEAN 2018, affirming the Chinese Party, Government and people’s treasuring relations with Vietnam and pledged to promote bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. He said China is ready to import more Vietnamese goods and asked for more people exchanges and youth cooperation.
In his reception to Indonesian President Joko Widodo, the Party leader reiterated Vietnam’s unswerving policy of promoting multifaceted cooperation and friendship with Indonesia. He welcomed discussion outcomes during the President’s visit to Vietnam and called for more cooperation in trade, investment and culture. The Indonesian President pledged close cooperation with Vietnam to secure in regional peace, stability and cooperation as well as in the building of ASEAN for unity.
