(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has urged Dong Thap province to strictly implement criticism and self-criticism. He made the call at a working session on socio-economic situation and party building with local authorities on Sunday. Mr. Trong said: “The resolutions of the 4^th plenum of the 11^th Party Central Committee take effect as a warning, deterring and prevention measure. Those who fail to implement the resolutions should be disciplined in accordance with laws. as President Ho Chi Minh put it individualism is shifty and makes people blind without realizing their mistakes. So individualism is a crime and an inner enemy. We should be consistent, resolute, and wise.”

Party leader Trong praised Dong Thap’s achievements over the past 2 years: an economic growth of 13.5% last year and a projected 9.6% this year. He called for more efforts to settle transport and irrigation problems to modernize the rural areas.

On Saturday, Mr. Trong worked with leaders and people in Phu Hiep commune, Tam Nong district. He underlined the great role of agriculture in national stability and sustainable development. He said Vietnamese farmers are always loyal and confident in the Party.

Party leader Trong paid tribute to Nguyen Sinh Sac, father of President Ho Chi Minh at his grave in Cao Lanh township.
