Mr. Cuong addressed a meeting in Hanoi on Monday between the Central Steering Committee for celebrating major national holidays and historical events from 2023 to 2025 and Ho Chi Minh City on preparations for the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national unification.

A grand ceremony will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30, 2025, according to the meeting. There will be symposiums; reviews of 50 years of Vietnamese literature and art after the country's unification; and cultural and sports activities.

Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia asked the Ministry of National Defense to work on the military parade plan.

“The military parade project must soon be completed and submitted to the Party Secretariat. For national-level symposiums, the topic must cover a major, central issue, properly represent the country's landmark events, and have profound practical significance to the cause of national construction and defense in the new situation,” Mr. Nghia said.
